    Lead Developer for WishList Member. I build and ship WordPress and PHP systems that make money, scale well, and don’t fall apart at 2AM. Contributor and WordCamp speaker. Currently obsessed with improving developer workflows—especially using AI in a way that actually helps instead of getting in the way.

    Interests

    PHP development, WordPress plugins, AI-assisted workflows, automation (n8n, CLI tools), developer productivity, system design, performance optimization, open source, remote work setups (Linux, i3, tmux), coffee experiments, travel planning, and figuring out how to make complex things simpler and actually ship.

    WordPress Origin Story

    I started out building custom CMS solutions for clients—reinventing the wheel more times than I’d like to admit. Eventually discovered WordPress, spun up a personal blog (mikelopez.info), and realized I could focus more on solving real problems instead of rebuilding foundations. That led to creating custom plugins and themes for clients, which eventually grew into building WishList Member—one of the early membership plugins in the WordPress space. Been deep in the ecosystem ever since.
